Union Public Service Commission is constituted Under Article 320 of Indian Constitution. one of the main functions of the UPSC is to conduct various examinations for Government of India. UPSC conducts following examinations almost every year.

Engineering Services Exam, Civil Services Exam, N.D.A. & N.A. Exam, C.D.S. Exam, Indian Forest Service Exam, Central Industrial Security Forces -CISF (ACs), Central Armed Police Forces (ACs), Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Exam and exam for various other central government departments.

Other functions of UPSC are as follows.

  • Recruitment of officers on deputation/promotion
  • Direct recruitment
  • Framing/amendment of rules for recruitment for civil services and posts under the Government of India
  • Disciplinary cases of Civil Services.
  • Advising the Government on any matter referred to the Commission by the President of India.
