Staff Selection Commission (SSC), is an organization under Government of India which is involved in conducting SSC exams such as Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL) for recruitment of staff positions on various posts in the various Ministries, Departments and Subordinate offices of the Government of India. SSC CGL 2017 Eligibility Criteria


In order to apply for the SSC CGL exam the following eligibility criteria is applicable.  The eligibility criteria are mentioned below:

  • Educational Qualification: The candidate must own a bachelors degree from a recognized University or Equivalent.
  • Age Limit: The age limit of a candidate should be 20 to 30 years, there is an age relaxation for the reserved category as per the Government rule. Please check the official notification for age relaxation.

SSC CGL 2017 Application Form & Fee Payment (Read further)


  • The application form for the SSC CGL 2017 Exam shall be filled and submitted in online mode only. The online application form shall be available soon at SSC official website.
  • All applicants have to pay an application fee of Rs. 100. Other options are also available like applicants can pay the fee by SBI challan/net banking and debit/credit card. Application fee waived for and is not applicable to Female, SC/ST, and Physically Handicapped and Ex-Servicemen candidates.

SSC CGL 2017 Selection Procedure (Read Further)


The selection procedure for the SSC CGL is mentioned below:

  • Tier-1:Written Examination (Objective Type) (200 Marks)
  • Tier-2:Written Examination (Objective Type) (each paper carry 200 marks)

SSC CGL 2017 Exam Pattern & Syllabus (Read Further)


Tier-1 Exam Pattern:

  • The online exam will be conducted with objective type pattern.
  • The question paper will be divided into 4 sections: (1) General Intelligence & Reasoning, (2) General Awareness / General knowledge, (3) Quantitative Aptitude and (4) English Comprehension.
  • There are 100 questions for 200 marks and exam duration will be 75 minutes.
  • There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

Tier-2 Exam Pattern:

  • The exam is objective type and will be conducted online.
  • There are 4 papers, (Paper- 1) Quantitative Ability, (Paper-2) English Language and Comprehension, (Paper-3) Statistics and (Paper-4) General Studies (Finance and Economics).
  • Paper-1 & 2 is compulsory for all posts and Paper-3 is only for the post of “Statistical Investigator Gr. II” & “Compiler” and Paper- 4 is only for the post of “Assistant Audit Officer”.
  • Each paper carries 200 marks and exam duration is 2 hours for each paper.
  • There will be negative marking for each wrong answer, negative marking of 0.50 marks in Paper-1, Paper-3 & Paper-4 and negative marking of 0.25 marks in Paper-2.

Tier-3 Exam Pattern:

  • The exam is the descriptive type and will be conducted offline.
  • Candidates need to write Essay / Précis / Letter / Application Writing etc.
  • Exam carries 100 marks and exam duration is 60 minutes and exam duration will be 80 minutes for “VH” and “Cerebral Palsy” candidates.

SSC CGL 2017 Admit Card (Read Further)


The admit card for the CGL 2017 Tier exam will be issued on official regional websites. Applicants can also download the SSC CGL admit card from (Click Here). The SSC does not send CGL to admit card by mail or post, and therefore all applicants must download their CGL admit card thru online only. The applicant shall carry the admit card to the examination hall. Admission to exam hall is strictly prohibited without a valid admit card.

SSC CGL 2017 Answer Key (Read Further)


SSC publishes the answer key of CGL exam; Candidates can compare their performances in the exam with the help of CGL answer key. SSC will upload the CGL answer keys after the exam on its official website.

SSC CGL 2017 Cut Off (Read Further)


SSC follows the minimum marks criterion which is known as the “Cut Off”. Each applicant is required to score the marks equal or more than the minimum qualifying marks. The Cut Off marks vary depending on the category of the candidate. SSC will announce the minimum cut off marks categories.

SSC CGL 2018 Result (Read Further)


The result of CGL exam is announced by the SSC usually after a month from the examination. SSC announces the result on its official website of SSC. The published result will be in “PDF” format and shall contain the list of qualified candidates.
